Robert Barber signs UDFA contract with Carolina Panthers

Washington State defensive tackle Robert Barber will get a chance to continue his football career after signing an undrafted free agent contract with the Carolina Panthers.

At WSU, Barber was a classic nose tackle, eating up blocks in the middle of the line. As such, he didn’t generate a lot of tackles, but he had a knack for being a disruptive force, even if he wasn’t always the one to finish the play. He registered three sacks in the last two seasons.

Unfortunately, Barber was best known around Pullman this year for his role in an off-campus fight in the summer of 2016 — an incident for which he is currently facing felony second degree assault charges.
