Pietsch leaving state’s aerospace office to join WSU

The director of Gov. Jay Inslee’s aerospace office, Alex Pietsch, is leaving to become an industry liaison at Washington State University, with an early focus on expanding WSU’s programs in Everett.

As WSU’s associate vice president for industry relations, Pietsch will start in September to initially concentrate on developing links with aerospace, advanced manufacturing and information-technology companies.

Pietsch will be based at WSU’s offices in downtown Seattle and will work closely with its campuses across the state, particularly at the University Center of North Puget Sound, on the campus of Everett Community College campus.

WSU already offers mechanical- and electrical-engineering degrees in Everett.
