Mariners now believe that Fernando Rodney might be tipping his pitches

The saga that is the 2015 season for Fernando Rodney took another plot twist Monday.

Asked if he was ready to share his plan for using the beleaguered former closer in future relief situations, Seattle manager Lloyd McClendon declined.

“No, I’m not,” he said. “Maybe tomorrow.”

But McClendon did share some thoughts on what has been plaguing Rodney of late.

Asked if fastball command — an issue earlier this season — was once again causing Rodney’s troubles, McClendon offered up a different take.

“I really don’t think it was fastball command,” McClendon said. “I think Fernando was tipping some pitches and we’ve got to get that straightened out.
