Late Error Costly in Loss to Arizona

PULLMAN, Wash. – Ryan Walker struck out a career-high seven and Derek Chapman collected two hits but it was not enough as Washington State fell 2-0 to Arizona in 11 innings, Sunday afternoon at Bailey-Brayton Field.

Walker, along with his career-high strikeout mark, hurled a career-high seven shutout innings and allowed only two hits and one free pass. During the gem, Walker recorded 12-straight outs extending from the second to sixth innings and didn’t allow a base runner past second base. Scotty Sunitsch and Sam Triece both worked the eighth needing only a combined nine pitches.
