Redskins still in position to win NFC East

The Washington Redskins were defeated soundly on the road 44-16 by the unbeaten Carolina Panthers in week 11. However there is still reason for optimism around the team as they head into their week 12 division matchup with the New York Giants.

Although the Redskins are 0-5 on the road they will face the Giants at home in Fed Ex Field where the Skins are 4-1 so far this season. The Redskins play much better at home than they do on the road so they should have a good shot at getting a win.

While the turnovers and lack of a running game were alarming in the Panthers loss, quarterback Cam Newton and the Panthers are simply a team playing at a much higher level than the Redskins are right now and beating them on the road was a difficult task.
