Redskins select QB Nate Sudfeld with pick 187

The Washington Redskins have selected Indiana quarterback Nate Sudfeld with the 187th pick in the sixth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. Head coach Jay Gruden stated that he wanted a young quarterback to develop and with Nate Sudfeld he has one.

The Skins aren’t hurting at quarterback going in this season. They used the franchise tag this offseason on starter Kirk Cousins and are negotiating a long-term deal with him. They also re-signed backup Colt McCoy. So the Redskins quarterback situation has some stability for the first time in a long time.

Sudfeld gives the Redskins something to work with.
