Jay Gruden says easy to second-guess, but offers some regret over final rush

ASHBURN, Va. -- The decision didn’t work so it led to second-guessing and possible regret. The Washington Redskins opted to send only three rushers at Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford from the 18-yard line. And Stafford threw a touchdown pass with 22 seconds remaining.

The throw was the difference in Detroit's 20-17 win over Washington.

It wasn’t the first time the Redskins used a three-man rush in that game. But it was the one that hurt them most.

“When you look back at the call, you’d like to get more people around Matthew,” Redskins coach Jay Gruden said.
