Alfred Morris’s lack of touches was a byproduct of a stagnant run game

The Redskins have been dethroned as the top run offense in the NFL. They dropped from first to 12th due to a poor performance in the 25-19 overtime loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. Washington had 24 carries for just 51 yards, averaging 2.1 yards per attempt.

“I know that our blocking in the running game was not up to our standards,” Redskins Coach Jay Gruden said. “It wasn’t winning football for us and we have to do better. Our line knows that, our tight ends know that, our fullback — if he was in the game — knows that and our backs know that.
