The Kirk Cousins era of Washington Redskins football has come to an abrupt end, with the turnover-prone signal caller now benched in favor of Colt McCoy (or a returning Robert Griffin III).

Is it time to start revisiting the Cousins trade talks that dominated parts of the offseason? What could the Redskins get?

Keep reading for the latest on those pressing questions and more from the nation's capital.

Say Goodbye To Kirk?

The Washington Redskins remained steadfast this offseason in their desire to hold on to Cousins, but has that changed in the light of recent developments?

Rant Sports' Joseph Crevier thinks so, but cautions that compensation for Cousins could be minimal at the very best:

In retrospect, the franchise should have traded Cousins a long time ago to avoid the controversy played up by the media, but they are now looking at a fifth-round pick at the very best. Realistically, I do not see a team forfeiting anything other than a sixth or seventh-rounder at this point.

As of right now, Cousins will likely command backup money and backup compensation. The Redskins might have been able to milk more out of a deal this spring, but things have seemingly changed.

Has Brian Orakpo Played His Last Snap For The Redskins?

ProFootballRumors.com's Luke Adams says all signs lean towards yes:

Because he’d been playing on the franchise tag, Orakpo will be eligible for free agency in March, and it’s fair to wonder if he has played his last game in Washington. Fellow starting outside linebacker Ryan Kerrigan is having a big year, having already racked up 6.5 sacks, and rookie Trent Murphy has played well when he’s seen the field as well. With Kerrigan potentially still a year away from a big payday and Murphy on an inexpensive rookie deal, the team may pass on Orakpo, using that cap space elsewhere after committing $11MM+ to him for this season.

As reported earlier, Orakpo once again tore a pectoral muscle and is out for the remainder of the 2014 NFL season.
