Redskins Rumors: Redskins sign free agent CB Tracy Porter

Redskins rumors have been extremely busy since the beginning of the 2014 NFL free agency period on Tuesday, and things continue to progress this morning as the Washington Redskins have just signed some help for their secondary.

Dianna Marie Russini, NBC Sports anchor in Washington D.C., is reporting that the Washington Redskins have agreed to terms with former Oakland Raiders cornerback Tracy Porter--

The 27-year old defensive back played the first four years of his career with the New Orleans Saints, before bouncing from the Denver Broncos in 2012 to the Oakland Raiders in 2013.

The 2013 season marked the first time Tracy Porter was given a chance to be an unquestioned starter at cornerback, starting all 16 games for the 4-12 Oakland Raiders. He posted career-highs in tackles (53) and sacks (1.5), along with posting two interceptions.

Porter will likely function as a backup for cornerbacks DeAngelo Hall and David Amerson, and could also be brought in on nickel and dime packages for Redskins defensive coordinator Jim Haslett.
