Redskins Rumors: Redskins interested in free agent DT Jason Hatcher?

Redskins rumors were filled with mid-level signings for the first 24 hours or so of the 2014 NFL free agency period, but there is one marquee name on the defensive market which has piqued the Washington Redskins' interest.

According to Mike Jones, Redskins beat writer for the Washington Post, the Washington Redskins could be in on the market for free agent defensive tackle Jason Hatcher--

After Tuesday's work, the Washington Redskins' cap space has dwindled from $18.58 million to about $8.75 million (less with the signing of OL Shawn Lauvao just moments ago). Unless the Washington Redskins get fancy with the financial details, Jason Hatcher may land just outside of Redskins' owner Daniel Snyder's price range.

Jason Hatcher's breakout 2013 season earned him both a spot on the NFC roster in the Pro Bowl and what looks to be a significant pay bump on the open market this offseason.

The potential Redskins target and eight-year pro (all with Dallas) started in 15 games for the Dallas Cowboys, setting career-highs in sacks (11), tackles (34), passes defensed (3), and forced fumbles (2).
