Redskins News: Jordan Reed Out Sunday, Committee At TE Against Eagles

In this Redskins news update, Washington Redskins starting tight end Jordan Reed will miss his second consecutive game on Sunday due to a hamstring pull, head coach Jay Gruden announced on Friday.

“I was hoping for a miracle [but] Jordan Reed is out,” Gruden said, via Tarik El-Bashir of CSN Washington. The second-year tight end was hurt during the first quarter of Week 1's loss to the Houston Texans.

Reed was drafted in the third round by the Redskins in 2013, but has fell victim to a half-dozen various injuries in a season-plus - missing nine of a possible nineteen games so far in his NFL career.

With Reed out, the Washington Redskins will again employ a committee at tight end consisting of Niles Paul and Logan Paulsen. Paul has filled in quite nicely over the first two weeks, posting 185 yards and a touchdown on 12 catches.
