Breeland responds to suspension via Twitter

RICHMOND – Cornerback Bashaud Breeland says that he accepts the punishment that the league gave him on Friday for the citation for simple possession of marijuana, which is a misdemeanor, that he received at the end of the 2014 training camp.

Breeland expressed his thoughts on the punishment on Twitter. He originally was scheduled to address reporters Friday evening, following that day’s practice session. But early in that practice, Breeland strained the medial collateral ligament in his right knee and had to be carted off. Breeland is expected to miss four to six weeks of action.

Breeland wasn’t seen at the Redskins’ training facility Saturday morning.
