4 Quarterbacks The Redskins Can Sign To Turn Their Season Around

The Washington Redskins have been a disaster at the quarterback position once again this year, and all three quarterbacks on the roster have shown they don't have what it takes to make the Redskins even remotely successful. Because of that, they would be smart to turn to another option to see if they can take this roster as far as they can go. Here are four guys that just might be able to turn things around in D.C.:

4) T.J. Yates

Yates lost the Falcons' backup job to Sean Renfree, but Yates has had success in the NFL in the past. He managed to win a playoff game with the Houston Texans, and that team wasn't as talented as this Redskins squad is. Yates wouldn't be a long-term answer, and he'd need some time to learn the playbook, but he'd be an upgrade.

3) Josh Freeman

If the Redskins want a younger QB that they can get more than a season out of, Freeman is the best choice. He's on his last NFL chance after struggling in the preseason with the Miami Dolphins, but he was a starter only a few seasons ago and does have some potential being just two seasons removed from throwing 27 touchdown passes.

2) Brian Hoyer

Hoyer recently lost his starting job with the Houston Texans, which means he might be available. This depends on how much a trade for Hoyer would cost, but it's something Washington should look into. He also won't be a long-term solution, but he's proven he can win in the NFL and won't make a lot of mistakes.

1) Christian Ponder

If the Redskins are looking for another veteran to bring in, Ponder is the best option. He's a free agent, so he wouldn't cost any draft picks, and he's smart enough to learn the playbook quickly. He's not the most talented quarterback in the league, but he can take care of the ball and did lead the Vikings to the playoffs as the starter. Simply put, he won't mess things up - and that's a positive for Washington.
