2015 NFL offensive linemen overview: At 6 feet 7, Andrus Peat stands out in a thin class of tackles

Andrus Peat wasn’t allowed to play football until high school. His father, Todd Peat — who played guard for the Los Angeles Raiders (1987-89) and Phoenix Cardinals (1990, 1992-93) — knew the dangers of the game and the inevitable toll it took. So he didn’t overtly encourage any of his sons to pursue the profession he’d chosen.

But now that the giant among his sons, 6-foot-7, 316-pound Andrus Peat, has played his way into a likely first-round selection in the NFL draft, his dad is offering advice every way he can.

“He has been where I want to go,” the younger Peat said of his father during interviews at February’s NFL Combine.
