Washington Nationals’ lineup for the third of four with the San Diego Padres...

Dusty Baker needed six pitchers to get through last night’s game after Washington Nationals’ ace Max Scherzer was scratched and placed on the 10-Day DL with what ended up being called left neck inflammation.

Matt Grace, Shawn Kelley, Joe Blanton, Oliver Perez, Matt Albers, and Sammy Solis got the Nationals through the game and the offense produced seven runs on nine hits in a 7-1 win.

Howie Kendrick went 2 for 5 with a home run in the first at bat of the game, all but one of the players (Matt Wieters - 0 for 3, BB, R) in the starting lineup connected for hits, and the Nationals came up big on defense to ease the burden on the bullpen.
