UW softball’s season ends with loss to Alabama in Super Regional

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The Alabama Crimson Tide got the big hit and produced the big inning to eliminate the Washington softball team on Saturday at the NCAA Tuscaloosa Super Regional at Rhoads Stadium.

Alabama got a three-run home run from freshman catcher Reagan Dykes to key a four-run outburst in the third inning, and held on for a 5-2 victory in front of a crowd of 3,443.

Alabama (51-12), which won 2-1 in eight innings on Friday night, clinched the best-of-three series to advance to the Women’s College World Series, which begins next weekend in Oklahoma City.
