The Apple Cup is at its best when the Huskies and Cougars are playing at a high level. And under the tutelage of Chris Petersen and Mike Leach, both programs appear to be trending upward.
Even in this week of sanctioned discord between cats and dogs, I believe we can all come together and agree upon one thing.
Namely, that the Apple Cup is a much better entity when both schools, the felines of Washington State and the canines of Washington, are sleek, powerful and successful.
Well, maybe the hardest-core amongst you prefer the schadenfreude of having your rival suffer through a miserable season, while your team is soaring to great heights.
