Huskies’ running back Jomon Dotson has been a spring standout

While Washington’s two young quarterbacks have gotten most of the attention this spring, another young skill player has consistently caught the eye of coaches and teammates.

And despite his wiry build, Jomon Dotson could prove to be an every-down running back down the road for the Huskies.

“He’s more powerful than people think,” UW running-backs coach Keith Bhonapha said. “The kid is really strong.”

A 5-foot-10, 174-pound redshirt freshman, Dotson rushed for 2,004 yards and 26 touchdowns on 189 carries in his senior season at American Canyon (Calif.) High School. During UW’s winter-testing combine last month, Dotson ran the second-fastest 40-yard dash on the team, a hand-timed 4.
