For the first time in his young career, Wilson will face free agency. In restricted free agency, the Washington Capitals will hold his rights unless the either do not tender him a contract or trade his rights to another team.
Wilson was taken 16th overall at the 2012 NHL Draft by the Washington Capitals with the idea that he would become the next Milan Lucic.
