Washington Capitals down Penguins in Overtime in Game One, TJ Oshie Nets Hat Trick

On Thursday night the Washington Capitals welcomed the Pittsburgh Penguins into Verizon Center for game one of their second round match up. Game one has been huge in this NHL postseason as every team that won game number one in the first round of the playoffs went through to win their series and advance. So no pressure, right?

At the start of the first period the Penguins came out very strong and had control of the game with five of the game’s first six shots on goal. The Capitals would get the game’s first power play opportunity 6 minutes into the first which turned the momentum of the game into the Capitals favor.
