Jason Chimera: The Capitals' surprise 'secret weapon'

TORONTO — Jason Chimera would compare himself to “a fine wine,” seemingly improving with age and setting new marks in his lengthy career. The Washington Capitals’ oldest player at 36 years old has been one of the team’s most pleasant surprises so far this season.

With his first-period score on Saturday night in a 4-2 win against the Toronto Maple Leafs, Chimera has now matched his goal total for all of last season with seven. With his second-period assist on a Justin Williams power-play goal, Chimera recorded his sixth power-play point in nine games, which is a season-high for him in his 14-year career.
