Holt-Beast

Capitals goaltender Braden Holtby made 27 saves on April 8 against Boston to record his third shutout in three games against the Bruins in 2014-15. Holtby is only the second goaltender in the NHL’s expansion era (since 1967-68) to post three shutouts versus Boston in one season (Cristobal Huet, 2005-06) and the first goaltender in Capitals history to shut out one team three times in one season. Holtby is the first netminder on any NHL team to earn three shutouts against one team in a season since the Coyotes’ Mike Smith racked up three shutouts against the Sharks in 2011-12.
