The 2017 Wake Forest football recruiting class got a bit smaller on Tuesday evening. Braden Atkinson, a tight end out of Baltimore, Maryland, has decommitted from Wake Forest. This decommitment comes just one week after Adam Scheier, who was primarily responsible for coaching tight ends and recruiting the DMV area, “mutually agreed” to part ways with the program. Atkinson is a consensus 3-star prospect and is the 59th best tight end in the 2017 recruiting class according to to 247 Sports Composite. During his junior season he hauled in 58 receptions for 702 yards and 5 touchdowns.
