CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Virginia Tech’s starting pitcher Kit Scheetz turned in another quality start and Joe Freiday, Jr. provided a three-run home run in the fourth to lead the Hokies to a 5-0 victory over Boston College in ACC action on Friday afternoon at Pellagrini Diamond.
Leading 1-0 after three, Freiday, Jr. stepped to the plate with Hokies on second and third and smacked the first pitch he saw over the right centerfield wall to give Tech a commanding 4-0 advantage.
Scheetz kept the Eagles off the board, while scattering four hits and a walk over six frames.
