Hayden drives in three runs in setback at Duke

Tech drops ACC series opener versus Blue Devils 6-3

DURHAM, N.C. –Brendon Hayden drove in all three runs for the Virginia Tech baseball team, but it was the host Duke Blue Devils who posted the ACC victory on Friday night as they captured the 6-3 win to open the ACC series at Jack Coombs Field.

Hayden opened the scoring in the second inning with a lead-off home run, his 10th of the season and the 23rd of the senior’s Tech career. However, when he singled home two in the eighth frame with a single through the right side – scoring Mac Caples and Alex Perez – the Hokies were trailing 6-1 at the time.
