The South’s Oldest Rivalry Gamethread

Well, here we are again. For the 121st time, the football teams of Virginia and North Carolina get together to settle the annual contest known as the South’s Oldest Rivalry.

The Cavaliers got a three game homestand off to a disappointing start when their offense collapsed in the second half against Pittsburgh, which might have been manageable if the special teams had not done a similar fainting act on kickoff coverage in the first half.

North Carolina is a fearsome challenge. The Tar Heels are looking to lock up bowl eligibility today, and have a schedule that could put them in solid position to play for the ACC title if Virginia Tech drops one more conference game.
