Sixteen ESPN analysts sat in a room (probably not the same room, but each of them, more likely than not, were in a room somewhere, and I've digressed) and made their picks as to which teams might make the College World Series this year.
Not a one of them picked Virginia.
While there was no unanimous selection, UCLA and LSU garnered the most votes, at 15 a piece. Florida and defending national champions Vanderbilt were next with 14 each.
Virginia's regional includes hosts UC Santa Barbara, USC, and San Diego State. Of the three, only UC Santa Barbara was picked by anyone to advance, and even so, just by one analyst.
