Vanderbilt's 14-12 loss to Western Kentucky in Thursday night's season opener was a heartbreaker, with a potential tying two-point conversion attempt in the final minute getting stopped just inches short of the goal line.

On the play, quarterback Johnny McCrary rolled to the right and threw a quick out to Andy Marcus, one of three receivers to the right side, but Marcus was cut down as he tried to turn it up into the end zone.

But according to Western Kentucky middle linebacker Nick Holt, the play never had a chance because the Hilltoppers knew exactly what was coming.
