Vanderbilt announced earlier this week that it would have a “spring showcase” instead of a spring game as its final practice this spring.
On Friday, Commodores coach Derek Mason explained the decision to move away from the traditional format to something that will be a scrimmage with more traditional practice segments incorporated into it.
“I call it a showcase because at least this year, I really decided to move away from the spring game concept and more toward the spring showcase, where it’s really not much different,” Mason said. “When I say not much different, we’re still going to scrimmage.
