Chicago White Sox sign top draft pick Carson Fulmer

Carson Fulmer, the Chicago White Sox’ top pick in the 2015 draft, signed a Minor League contract with the club yesterday (July 3). The Sox offered a nearly $3.5 million signing bonus as part of the agreement.

Wanting an immediate return-on-investment, the Sox put Fulmer on the mound at U.S. Cellular Field Friday the same night – to throw out the ceremonial first pitch before the Sox took the field against the Baltimore Orioles.

The right-hander has had quite a week, having also been named Pitcher of the Year by the National College Baseball Hall of Fame.
