MLS Disciplinary Committee suspends Kendall Waston for one match

NEW YORK, NY – The MLS Disciplinary Committee announced on Wednesday that Vancouver Whitecaps FC defender Kendall Waston has been suspended one game for "violent conduct" in the 25th minute of last Sunday's game against Portland Timbers.

The incident was reviewed under disciplinary parameter number 1, which gives the Committee the chance to review any evidence on a play that the referee did not see.

Since the incident happened in Waston's last game of 2016, he will serve the suspension in his first game of the 2017 MLS regular season.

Waston will be available for selection when Whitecaps FC open 2017 with a two-leg knockout round matchup versus New York Red Bulls in the CONCACAF Champions League on February 22 and March 2.
