Vancouver Canucks Assign 2 Players to Utica Comets

After a long series of roster cuts yesterday, the Vancouver Canucks assigned forwards Michael Carcone and Alexis D’Aoust to the AHL Utica Comets. Carcone was signed as a free agent from the QMJHL this summer while D’Aoust is on an amateur tryout deal — he will have to prove himself at Comets training camp.

Carcone, a 5-foot-9 forward who can play at center or on either wing, is a late bloomer. He broke into the QMJHL at age 18, and recorded 12 goals and 41 points in 50 games as a rookie with the Drummondville Voltigeurs.
