Whether it was a response to an extremely poor outing in Game 2, or to hockey media that have been calling out the Sens for playing 'boring hockey', the message was received loud and clear last night in a 5-1 ass-kicking of the Pittsburgh Penguins. It started just :48 into the game when Mike Hoffman scored on a set up from Kyle Turris and Alexandre Burrows. By the time the smoke cleared it was 4-0 after 1 period, the other 3 goals scored in 2:18, a franchise record. Though Sidney Crosby was able to break the shutout, the Penguins were never a threat in this game, and boring or not, the Sens have held the highest scoring team in the NHL to a goal a game.
