In the first week of Regional Qualifying Score (RQS) rankings, which were announced Monday, Utah State’s gymnastics team entered the week tied for 24th with a team average of 195.270.
“It means a lot to be in the top 25 and to see how far this program has come since my freshman year,” said fifth-year senior Hayley Sanzotti. “It shows that all our hard work during the preseason is paying off and that we are a good team to be reckoned with this year.”
However, after the Aggies scored a 195.700 to place second at a tri-meet hosted by UCLA on Monday afternoon, Utah State (6-5, 2-2 Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference) moved up four spots in the national rankings and is tied for 20th with an RQS of 195.
