Former Weber State star Damian Lillard scored 39 points and the Portland Trail Blazers beat the Utah Jazz 113-104 at home Tuesday on the first night of the NBAs regular season.

With the game tied at 99 with 4:24 remaining, Joe Johnson converted a 3-point play to give him 29 points on the night, but the Jazz faltered from there, scoring just two points the rest of the way and the Trail Blazers won their 16th consecutive home opener.
