In her the last tournament before the ITA Texas Regional, senior Jessica Birowski nabbed her first title of the season for the women's tennis team Sunday at the SMU Invitational.
Birowski capped off her undefeated singles run with a 7-6, 6-3 win over Gonzaga University sophomore Graciela Rosas to win the Draw 3 singles title. She also defeated Marquette University freshman Fleur Eggnik and Abilene Christian University junior Erin Walker en route to her title.
Senior Angeles de los Rios and sophomore Valeria Lopez each won their opening round matches, but fell in the semis. Senior Astrid Gehre lost her opening round singles match and fell in the Draw 1 consolation bracket final.
