The women's basketball team earned a pair of wins at the Seton Hall University Thanksgiving Classic over the weekend.
The team elevated to the first 4-0 record since 1977 after defeating San Diego State University 64-58 Saturday at Walsh Gymnasium.
San Diego State University got the game started with a 3-pointer, but the Lady Mavericks quickly took the wheel. UTA controlled the remaining 37 minutes and 59 seconds of the game, leading by as much as 12 points.
The second best start in program history was achieved thanks to junior guard Christina Devers and junior center Rebekah VanDijk's team-high 14 points.
