The Lady Mavericks' race to a historic 8-0 start came to an abrupt end after Stephen F. Austin University took a 65-60 win Saturday at College Park Center.
"This is new to our team, our team is not used to being, you know, a 5-0 or having a big target on their backs," head coach Krista Gerlich said. "We're used to the ones going hunting, not being hunted. Stephen F. Austin did a nice job of really attacking us, and our kids learned a valuable lesson from it."
