Volleyball to host Dig Pink match for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

The UTA Volleyball team will host its annual Dig Pink match against Texas State University at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at College Park Center.

The match is played every October to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Donations are made to the Side-Out Foundation, a fundraising website for breast cancer clinical trials. The team's goal is to raise $3,000 for the foundation this year.

UTA’s rivalry with Texas State dates back to 1973. In the 2015 Dig Pink matchup, the Bobcats defeated the Mavericks 3-1; they have also won nine of the last 11 meetings. The 2,018 attendees at the center set an all-time volleyball attendance record.
