Looking to earn a win against TCU in Fort Worth for a second consecutive season, the Mavericks fell short, dropping Tuesday's game 6-1.
Now 29-22, the team finished nonconference play with an 11-15 season record.
Both teams were scoreless through the first five innings, but a grand slam in the sixth inning swung the game in TCU's favor. The Horned Frogs followed with a two-run single later in the inning to take a 6-0 lead.
The Mavericks went into the ninth inning scoreless until sophomore right fielder Noah Vaughan's sacrifice fly scored UTA's only run in the game.
