After nine road games, UTA Softball (5-4) will host the UTA Invitational to open its first homestand at Allan Saxe Field.
The Mavericks started their season 1-4 at the Kajikawa Classic, but recovered to win their past four games at the Lion Classic II.
“We kept our head up after last weekend, because we knew that the majority of our problems were nerves and lack of aggressiveness,” sophomore pitcher Sam Clakley said in a text message. “When your coach also has complete confidence in our abilities after a few bad games, we know that we are fine and are only getting better.
