Sophomore infielder Bri Burchianti was presented the Texas Trust Scholar Athlete of the Week Monday.
Burchianti started 39 of the 44 games she appeared in during the softball team’s 2016 season. She hit .270, knocked in 23 RBIs and scored 17 runs.
Burchianti made the Sun Belt Conference Commissioner’s List last school year for maintaining a GPA of 3.50 or higher.
Texas Trust Credit Union has sponsored UTA Athletics since 2013 and it recently donated $100,000 in support of UTA’s Career Development Center.
