The men’s tennis team’s trip to the 2016 ITA Men’s All-American Championships Pre-Qualifying Draw came to an abrupt end Sunday.
Sophomore Guanarteme Nuez and senior Daniel Armengol both advanced to the round of 64 for UTA Sunday. Nuez was eliminated by Rice University and Armengol was eliminated by Lamar University.
Senior Mauricio del Rio lost in the first round to Wichita State. He won his consolation match over Louisiana 6-1, 6-0.
Next on the schedule for UTA is the ITA Texas Regional in Fort Worth from Oct. 21 to Oct. 24.
