For the first time in head coach Krista Gerlich’s tenure at UTA, the women’s basketball team is taking a preseason foreign tour.
The Lady Mavericks will kick off a four-game, nine-day trip to San Jose, Costa Rica, on Aug. 12 before heading to Los Suenos on Aug. 19. UTA will play against the Costa Rican national team and the University of Ottawa during the tour.
UTA is coming off a 22-win season and appearance in the Women’s National Invitation Tournament.
“We're at a point where the administration sees where we’re going,” Gerlich said. “So, they’re willing to support our vision.
