The PGA Championship is among the four most prestigious tournaments in professional golf. So prestigious that of the 28,000 PGA members, only 20 are eligible to compete.
UTA golf director Stuart Deane is one of these members.
“I just think it’s great for the city of Arlington and for the university,” athletics director Jim Baker said. “We’ve got one of our own playing in one of the four majors.”
Deane qualified for the PGA Championship in June for the second time is his career, with this championship marking his 12th appearance in a PGA Tour event.
