With summertime in the air, school sports come to an end and offseason begins.
Junior infielder Christian Hollie is one Maverick taking on a "no time-off" mindset and using his break to excel in his sport. The Fort Worth native is spending his summer in Savannah, Georgia, playing in the Coastal Plain League with the Savannah Bananas.
“In college baseball, it’s essential that guys go out and play in the summer,” head coach Darin Thomas said. “There’s collegiate leagues all over the United States designed specifically for college players to improve their game.”
Hollie was benched for part of the 2017 season because of a hand injury.
