Four Lady Movin’ Mavs are one step closer to pursuing Paralympic gold.
Juniors Josie Aslakson and Abby Dunkin, freshman Molly Welfle and senior Morgan Wood were named to the 2017 women’s wheelchair basketball national team. Selections are made every January and precede a three-day camp, where the roster is then narrowed from 16 to 12.
The additions to the roster shows the Lady Movin’ Mavs are moving in the right direction, head coach Jason Nelms said.
Junior Rose Hollermann opted to rest and focus on school and work, but she is expected to return to national competition, Nelms said.
