The volleyball team was swept 3-0 by 2015 Sun Belt Conference champion Arkansas State University Saturday at College Park Center.
After a dogfight early in the first set, a service ace from freshman libero Taylor Murata helped the Mavericks take their first lead at 13-12. ASU answered with four consecutive kills and claimed a 25-19 set win.
The Red Wolves raced out to a 7-0 run and took an 11-4 lead in the second set. The Mavericks responded with a 4-0 run of its own, but fell behind 12-9. ASU replicated the first set and, again, defeated the Mavericks 25-19.
