UCLA, USC women's golf teams advance to match-play portion of NCAA Championships

EUGENE, Ore. - Fountain Valley High graduate Lilia Vu shot a bogey-free, 5-under-par 67 to help the UCLA women’s golf team win the stroke-play portion of the NCAA Championships on Monday, closing the four-day event with an 8-under-par total (1,144) to earn the top seed for match play, which gets underway Tuesday morning at Eugene Country Club.

UCLA, which shot a 6-under 282 on Monday, finished stroke play three shots better than Stanford and six strokes ahead of third-place USC. The other five teams advancing to the final eight were Washington, Virginia, Duke, South Carolina and Oregon.
